Cherry Blossom in Nagasaki, Japan (March, 2014)

The cherry blossom season just started in Taiwan, so without a doubt, me and my family visited Mt. Yangming to take a closer look at those gorgeous flowers. :D
The cherry blossom was awesome there at Mt. Yangming, which reminded me of my great time in Japan. So as soon as I went back home, I started to browse through the photos I took last year when I was still in Nagasaki. And luckily enough, I found these photos! It's a shame that back at the time I was in Japan, I didn't realize how amazingly beautiful these cherry trees were. I kind of just took all these for granted. Like, "Yeah, this is how Japan should be like, cherry blossom and all this stuff." (That was my sixth month in Japan, shame on me!!!)

*Photos all taken by iPhone 5

Like I wrote in my other posts, there's a little park near the dorm I lived. At the time I went back to Nagasaki, after a short return to Taiwan in February (to escape from the coldness in Japan), I found out the cherry trees in this little park were already blooming with white blossoms.

During this cherry blossom season, you can see Japanese bringing their picnic mats to the parks and have foods and beers with their families or friends, no matter in the daytime or in the evening.
So the lanterns in the photo below will be lightened up at night so people can still enjoy cherry blossom at night!

So when I suddenly realized that this was the once a year cherry blossom season, I decided to take an adventure to other places in Nagasaki City right away, to search for the presence of other cherry blossom trees. Therefore, I made up my mind to walk from my dorm to my favorite spot in Nagasaki - Mizubenomori Park. The distance between these two places is around 6 something kilometers. And it takes over an hour to walk there. On the way there, you'll pass by Urakami River, and there were cherry trees on both side of the path.

So here I am, capturing the stunning sight of these cherry blossoms, like a tourist.

Now when I look back at these photos, I am like "God, I was so lucky back then!!"

After nearly two hours, I finally arrived at Mizubenomori Park.
This place is full of cherry trees. It's like Japanese planted nothing but cherry trees here.
And the cherry blossoms were, needless to say, stunning!

Besides me going on an adventure myself, we exchange students also went to Ooe Park to take a look at Yae Sakura.

This is my first time seeing Yae Sakura. Unlike other kinds of Sakura, Yae Sakura has layers of petals centering its pistil. But my roommate thought it's like balls of tissue hanging on the tree.
Anyways, this is the little cherry blossom adventure I had last year in Nagasaki, Japan. If I had another chance to visit the place again, I would definitely be more grateful for these ravishing sakura blossoms.
